Kind of Data

To prevent identification of individuals, figures for small groups are suppressed (not disclosed). In practice, values for proficiency level are suppressed if the following is the case:
a) Fewer than 10 individuals in the denominator
b) Fewer than three pupils at the lowest level of proficiency or fewer than three pupils at higher levels of proficiency (i.e. close to 100% at the lowest level of proficiency)

If more than 20 per cent of the figures in a time series are suppressed for privacy protection reasons, the entire time series will be suppressed so as not to create a false impression of the situation in the municipality. In the interests of retaining statistical power, time series are likewise suppressed if more than 50 per cent of the figures in the time series are based on 6 or fewer units.

The results of national tests from all state and private schools.

One of the prime tasks of schools is to help pupils to achieve a high level of reading literacy. The ability to read is worthwhile in itself for the experience, involvement and identification it offers. It is also a necessary precondition for education in the majority of academic subjects.
